Our portfolio includes Finance, MIS and ICT solutions, all delivered by a team with deep expertise in the education sector and a strong reputation for supporting schools and academies across the country.

We’re looking for a Senior MIS Consultant with strong Arbor expertise to join our Management Information Systems team on a 12-month fixed term contract (maternity cover).

This role offers a high degree of flexibility, making it ideal for someone looking to continue using their MIS expertise while maintaining a great work-life balance. If you enjoy working directly with schools, delivering training, and solving problems while building trusted relationships with clients, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Job:

As a Senior MIS Consultant, you will provide consultancy, training and technical support to schools and academies using Arbor MIS. Your expertise will help schools maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of their systems, ensuring they get the most value from their MIS.

You’ll work closely with school staff and our internal service teams to resolve issues, deliver training and provide expert guidance across a range of MIS-related queries.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing consultancy, training and support to schools using Arbor MIS (Core and Advanced).

  • Helping schools optimise their use of Arbor to improve efficiency and reporting.

  • Investigating and resolving support requests in line with agreed service levels.

  • Delivering training sessions for individuals and groups, both remotely and in person.

  • Conducting customer service visits and maintaining strong client relationships.

  • Working with our Service Desk to manage and resolve escalated support requests.

  • Contributing ideas and solutions to enhance services for our clients.

About You:

We’re looking for someone with strong Arbor knowledge and a passion for supporting schools.

You will likely have experience working in a school, MAT, local authority, or MIS support environment and be confident delivering training and consultancy to users with varying levels of experience.

Ideally you will have:

  • Extensive experience supporting Arbor MIS in schools.

  • Experience providing training or consultancy to individuals and groups.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

  • The ability to quickly understand and learn new software systems.

  • Experience with other MIS platforms such as Bromcom, IRIS Ed:gen or SIMS (desirable).

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

You will also need:

  • The right to work in the UK.

  • To be willing to undergo a DBS check.

Our Benefits:

We recognise that flexibility is important, and this role is designed to provide exactly that.

Alongside a part-time, term-time schedule, we offer:

  • Remote or hybrid working options across the UK.

  • 36 days annual leave (28 days + bank holidays) pro rata, plus an additional day for each year of service (up to 5 extra).

  • A flexible benefits package, including a Healthcare Scheme.

  • The option to purchase additional annual leave.

  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities.

Please note that the full-time equivalent salary for this position is £36,000 - £40,000 per year. This will be pro-rated based on the part-time hours offered.

At SBS, we are committed to building an inclusive and supportive workplace. As an equal opportunities employer, we celebrate diversity and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
