Job Purpose

The AI Engineer will build, test, and deploy AI models and applications that deliver measurable value to SEG. Working closely with the AI Architect and Head of AI Programme, this role focuses on hands-on development, experimentation, and implementation of AI solutions to meet the programme’s technical and strategic goals.


Main Responsibilities

  • Develop, fine‑tune, and evaluate machine learning and AI models based on defined requirements.
  • Implement model pipelines, APIs, and application components under the guidance of the AI Architect.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code for AI services and integrations.
  • Conduct data pre-processing, feature engineering, and exploratory analysis to support model development.
  • Build prototypes and proof‑of‑concepts to validate ideas and accelerate innovation.
  • Collaborate with the SEG engineering team and data team, as required, to integrate models into applications via APIs and to co-ordinate on deployments.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance activities.
  • Support deployment, monitoring, and optimisation of AI models in production.
  • Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of development practices.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as an AI/ML Engineer.
  • Proficiency in C#, Python and common AI/ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Experience building and deploying models/solutions into production environments (including Microsoft CoPilot, Teams, Azure).
  • Familiarity with Databricks, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git).
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a willingness to experiment and iterate.
  • Highly collaborative team player.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
