The Impact You'll Make

As our Lead Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the robustness, security, and scalability of our IT infrastructure. Your work will empower teams across our education brands to operate effectively, collaborate seamlessly, and deliver exceptional services to schools and learners. By leading on strategic projects and mentoring team members, you’ll not only drive continuous technical improvement—you’ll also help others succeed and grow.
 

• Architect for the Future: Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable infrastructure solutions across cloud and on-premise environments
• Drive Strategy: Collaborate closely with senior IT leaders to shape infrastructure roadmaps and influence technological direction
• Make Technology Work: Ensure our networks, servers, and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Entra, 365, Cisco Meraki) are reliable, secure, and high performing
• Lead and Inspire: Manage and mentor our Infrastructure Engineer, setting clear goals and encouraging professional development
• Deliver Change: Own key infrastructure projects, such as cloud migrations, integration projects and systems upgrades, from planning to execution
• Promote Best Practice: Ensure compliance with ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and other relevant standards
• Support and Collaborate: Act as a trusted escalation point and liaise with suppliers to ensure excellent service delivery.

• Proven experience in a senior/lead infrastructure role
• Hands-on expertise in networks, servers, and cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, M365)
• Experience managing virtualised environments (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V)
• Experience delivering infrastructure projects end-to-end
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure tenancy migrations
• Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, ITIL)

• Familiarity with Dell VXRail
• Experience in the education or public sector
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and documentation abilities
• A collaborative leadership style and mentoring experience
