We are seeking a highly capable and confident senior finance professional to provide maternity cover as Head of Finance at LMP Group. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations of the business, overseeing month-end, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting - as well as managing and supporting a small finance team.
This role will play a central part in delivering the FY26 budgeting cycle and ensuring continuity during a period of transition.

Main responsibilities 
The Head of Finance is responsible for the financial management of the organisation. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the full finance function and manage a team of four
  • Lead month-end and year-end reporting processes
  • Manage the FY26 budgeting and forecasting cycle, including planning and stakeholder engagement
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial performance to Group (SEG) and senior leadership
  • Oversee key controls including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
  • Provide financial insight and business partnering across the wider organisation
  • Maintain financial systems, especially during our transition to cloud-based Access Dimensions

 

 

Background and experience
Essential
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role (Head of Finance / Finance Director / Financial Controller)
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close experience
  • Experience leading small finance teams and building capability
  • Confident working independently and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
Desirable
  • Experience within the education, training or apprenticeship sector
  • Familiarity with Access Dimensions or similar systems
  • Experience in fast-paced, growing organisations
Skills and qualifications   
  • Advanced computer software skills, including MS Office and financial reporting software.
  • CCAB professional accounting qualification.
