About Us:

At Neo People Management, we are proud to be a trusted partner for schools and multi academy trusts across the UK. As specialists in the education sector, we deliver proactive HR advice, high-quality payroll and pensions services, and innovative people solutions that support the growth and success of our clients.

Every month, we ensure the salaries of over 25,000 school-based staff are paid accurately and on time. With a highly qualified team and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by schools and trusts, we are committed to integrity, innovation, and collaboration in everything we do.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced HR & Payroll Systems Manager to take ownership of our iTrent HR & Payroll platform. This is a senior role where you will lead and develop our HR Systems Team, ensuring the system delivers accurate, reliable, and value-driven solutions for both our internal colleagues and external customers.

You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation across the full employee lifecycle - identifying opportunities for improvement, overseeing product development, and ensuring seamless integrations with other business-critical systems. Your expertise will support data-driven decision-making, create meaningful insights, and help shape the future of our systems offering.

This is a role where technical expertise meets leadership and strategy - you’ll manage day-to-day operations while also influencing the bigger picture.

About You:

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in managing iTrent solutions and a strong background in HR and payroll processes. You’ll be confident in leading and motivating a small team, while also engaging with senior stakeholders and clients.

You will have:

  • Strong leadership skills with experience of line management or coaching.

  • Proven ability to manage, develop, and support HRIS (ideally iTrent).

  • Excellent knowledge of HR and Payroll processes.

  • Experience in systems analysis, design, and implementation.

  • Strong skills in reporting, dashboards, and data insights.

  • Good knowledge of APIs and system integrations.

  • Commercial awareness and client-focused mindset.

  • A collaborative approach, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Flexibility to travel to client sites when needed.

Desirable:

  • Project management qualification or experience.

  • Experience with other HRIS or Payroll solutions.

  • Previous experience in the education sector.

Above all, you’ll bring a solutions-focused mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Our Benefits:

We value our people and offer a competitive benefits package, including:

  • 36 days annual leave (28 days + 8 bank holidays), plus 1 extra day per year of service (up to 5).

  • Hybrid or remote working options across the UK.

  • Opportunities for Learning & Development to support your career growth.

  • A flexible benefits package, including a Healthcare Scheme and the ability to purchase additional annual leave.

We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where our team can thrive.
