About the job Job Responsibilities Assessment
Lead on the design, delivery, and evaluation of CPD for tutors to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and confidence in teaching maths. Create and deliver resources and training sessions to support tutors in effectively using platforms such as BKSB. Conduct initial assessments and ongoing learning reviews with apprentices to identify skills gaps and design tailored maths learning programmes. Ensure the delivery of high-quality maths training that meets and exceeds awarding body requirements and quality standards. Develop and adapt maths resources to align with sector-specific competencies and learner needs. Conduct diagnostic assessments and ongoing learning reviews with apprentices to identify skills gaps and design tailored maths learning programmes.
Training
Support the delivery of staff training using approved resources to ensure consistency and quality. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sector developments and best practice relating to maths education within the workplace. Deliver bespoke one-to-one support sessions for maths learners, including those with additional learning needs or maths-related anxieties. Design and implement individual action plans tailored to each candidate’s learning needs.
Co-ordination and Support
Collaborate with delivery managers to design and deliver CPD resources and sessions for tutors and apprenticeship learners. Attend CPD and standardisation events (remotely and at the Bristol Head Office up to three times per year) and participate in company conferences as required. Supply accurate programme and learner data as required, contributing to regular self-assessment and quality monitoring processes. Provide clear information and guidance to tutor, Performance Managers and Delivery Managers to support successful apprenticeship delivery. Record, monitor, and report on Additional Learning Support (ALS) in line with organisational and regulatory requirements, where learners and tutors with ALS are seeking maths support. Monitor candidate progress and provide targeted support to ensure timely achievement, particularly where maths qualifications are a core aim.
Administration
Complete all required documentation on our management information system to ensure apprentice engagement and compliance across the caseload. Contribute to the development and maintenance of CPD documentation templates for tutors accessing specialist maths support. Record personal CPD activities and ensure all mandatory training requirements are completed and up to date. Stay informed of apprenticeship funding rules, policy updates, and regulatory changes relating to maths delivery.

Undertake any other duties required in line with the scope and purpose of the role. The following criteria are used to shortlist –Essential Criteria
Hold a relevant maths related qualification or have a minimum of 2 years' experience as a teacher/ tutor of maths Have up to date maths related industry knowledge Hold at least Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy qualifications Able to develop strong professional relationships with employers and learners Have strong IT skills and experience of digital platforms for communication such as (but not limited to) Microsoft Teams or ZOOM Can motivate learners and staff around maths Hold a full driving licence, have own vehicle and willing to travel Willing to support individuals overcome maths-based anxiety Have high levels of motivation, empathy, and the ability to use own initiative
Desirable Criteria
Hold an assessor/teaching qualification Hold a relevant degree Hold an IV/IQA qualification Have experience of collaborating with employers in a training role Experience of working in schools or a similar environment
